Summary:
Qualified Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for performing clinical and research infusions/injections, preparing medications, taking vitals for patients, blood draws, post observations and detailed documentation into EMR (EcW).
Any Research Study Patients requires GCP training to perform any research related tasks and is required to be renewed bi-annually.
Clinical Research protocol specific training will be provided by the Sponsor and Primary Study Coordinator.
Education and
Experience:
Current RN licenseCurrent CPR certification2 years of experience working as an infusion nurseExperience working in a laboratory or research environment preferredCITI GCP training preferredIATA training preferred Essential Skills and Abilities:

Clinical
Responsibilities:
o Perform clinical infusions and injections per physician's order.
o Complete infusion related documentation.
o Welcomes patients by greeting them in person and on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries, as appropriate.
o Verifies and accurately collects intake information on patients, including medications and supplements, allergies, immunization information, past medical history and reason for visit, as appropriate.
o Responsible for performing vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, height/weight, pulse ox), injectable preparation, and lab collection and processing on all infusion or injection patients per specific infusion drug protocols.
o Triaging telephone encounters on patients as needed.
o Accurately documents information in patient record and/or computer system in a timely manner, according to study protocols in eCW.
o Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; overseeing supplies inventory ; overseeing preventive maintenance schedule ; informing administration for any necessary repairs.
o Maintains safe, secure and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
o Maintains patient confidence and clinical operations by keeping patient care information confidential by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures.
o Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintain personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
o Enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Clinical Research
Responsibilities:
o Prepares Investigational Product and administers per protocol under Primary Investigator's supervision as needed.
o Adherence to strict sponsor protocols for dispensing and preparing Investigational product, administering IP via infusion or injections and documentation of all trial assessments performed.
o Facilitates dose modification by assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dose modification, problems, and symptoms management.
o Assess and monitors therapy of patients using appropriate technical skills under the direction and supervision of a physician.
o In collaboration with the physician, reviews patients for changes in condition, adverse events, concomitant medication use, research protocol compliance, response to study drug, and thoroughly documents all findings.
o Coordinates patient care in compliance with specific research protocol requirements.
Disburses investigational drug and provide patient teaching regarding administration.
Maintains investigational drug accountability.
o Maintains efficient and appropriate patient flow.
o Maintain training with CITI CGP, IATA and protocol specific trials.
o Request and/or review subject medical records.
o Adherence to internal SOPs, Good Clinical Practice and FDA Research Regulations.
o Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.
o Timely reports to PI and/or study coordinator any adverse event or protocol deviation that may occur during acquisition of data being collected.
General
Responsibilities:
o Regularly launder blankets and other items used within the infusion suiteOther Duties:
Performs other duties and assumes various responsibilities as determined by ANA Administration.
